Workshops in this series seek to provide business development services (BDS) providers with the knowledge and skills to incorporate Cleaner Production (CP) approaches in their assistance to client micro, small and medium enterprises..
CP is a proven, business-oriented problem-solving strategy that focuses primarily on improving the efficiency of production processes. Increased efficiency generally translates into higher profits and better quality. The more efficient use of input materials and energy also equates to reduced waste, resource degradation and pollution, thereby lessening impacts on human health and the environment. CP thus furthers the fundamental goals of enterprise development and income generation programs by helping sustainably improve business performance.
The workshop emphasizes the basic business concepts of CP rather than sector-specific technical CP interventions.
